Background
As Director of Creative Services my role
was to establish and lead a multi-disciplinary user experience
design department at this Internet Professional Services start-up.
Results
The department grew to 30 billable design consultants
in three cities with 100% retention over 2 years
Developed an effective user experience design process
that allowed 16 Internet start-ups and 6 established companies
to launch new digital businesses
Identified the core skill sets and hired and supervised
all creative services staff
Integrated the design and technical teams to deliver
fast and efficient service
Established a learning organization within the design
department that effectively increased knowledge and continually
improved practices and procedures
Assessed the design needs of prospective clients, communicated
the value of design services, prepared proposals, and negotiated
contracts
Delivered design services that included information
architecture, visual interface design, design development,
personalization, interactive branding, corporate identity,
legacy GUI transformation, and network application integration
Played a central role with marketing in developing
a new name, identity, and marketing materials.
